JSON to Zod
Convert JSON examples into Zod schemas instantly. Runs locally in your browser.
Processed in your browser. Files never leave your device.
How it works
- Paste an example JSON payload.
- Name your schema export.
- Copy the generated Zod source into your project.
Generate Zod schemas from JSON examples locally
Zod is a common choice for runtime validation in TypeScript apps. Structura turns a JSON example into starter Zod source—objects, arrays, and primitives—so you can paste a schema into your project without uploading the sample to a remote generator.
Use it when you have a webhook payload, OpenAPI example, or fixture and need a first-pass
z.object quickly; when you want nested schemas named clearly for nested
objects; or when privacy matters because the example mirrors production field names and
values. The output is source text: Zod does not need to be installed in the browser, only
in the codebase where you paste the result.
What the tool produces
- Exportable Zod consts with a name you choose (default
schema) - Nested object schemas inferred from the example structure
- Optional keys when fields are missing across array items
- Copy and
schema.tsdownload for handoff into a repo
Worked example
Input: {"email":"a@b.co","count":3} with schema name schema.
Output is an export const schema = z.object({ email: z.string(), count: z.number() })
style block (nested objects become additional exported consts). You then add refinements,
coercions, or transforms in your own code—Structura intentionally stays example-driven
rather than inventing business rules.
Privacy, retention, and limits
Conversion runs only in your browser. Structura does not upload JSON for schema generation and does not retain pasted content as stored files. Anonymous analytics may note that a run succeeded and the input source (paste vs file), never the payload. Inputs over about 5 MB are blocked as a safety ceiling. Coercion, transforms, and refinements are not auto-generated.
Compared with copy-paste into a chat model or a hosted schema site, a local generator keeps your example off the network path entirely. That is the point of Structura: useful output with the same privacy posture as editing a file on disk. The tool is free and does not require an account.

FAQ
Does my data get uploaded or stored?
No. Conversion and cleaning run entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your paste or file for processing and does not retain file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.
Is processing private / local-only?
Yes for the tool’s job. Your payload stays on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs, paste vs file, and copy/download—never the contents of your JSON or CSV.
What size limits apply?
About 5 MB as a browser safety ceiling. Larger inputs may freeze or crash the tab depending on your device.
What formats are supported?
UTF-8 JSON objects and arrays (paste or .json file). Output is TypeScript source using Zod APIs. Not OpenAPI or JSON Schema documents.
Does it use z.infer?
The generated file is a Zod schema you can import. Infer types in your app with
z.infer<typeof schema> as usual.
How are optional fields decided?
When merging array items, keys missing on some objects become optional in the schema.
Do I need an account?
No. All Structura tools are free to use without signup.
