Compare Two PDFs
Find exactly what changed between two versions of a contract, policy, quote, or report, down to the word.
Both PDFs are read in your browser and never uploaded.
How it works
- Choose the original and the changed PDF.
- Decide whether to ignore spacing, letter case, and page-number lines.
- Compare to see edited lines with word-level highlights, plus added and removed lines with page numbers.
- Download a plain-text change report to share or file.
Review a new version without reading it twice
When a contract, lease, insurance policy, supplier quote, or report comes back as a "final" PDF, you need to know what changed from the version you agreed to. Reading both side by side is slow and easy to get wrong. Structura extracts the text from both files, aligns them line by line, and highlights the words that were added or removed.
Changes are matched across the whole document, so text that moved to the next page because a paragraph above it grew is not reported as a change. Footer page numbers can be ignored.
What you see
- Edited lines with deleted words struck through and new words highlighted
- Whole lines added or removed, each with its page number
- Unchanged text collapsed so the changes stand out
- A downloadable report in a simple
-/+format
Limits
Compares text, not layout, images, or formatting. Scanned PDFs without selectable text need OCR and are not supported. Multi-column layouts are read line by line across the page, which can make changes in columns harder to read. Files up to 50 MB each.

FAQ
Does my data get uploaded or stored?
No. Processing runs entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your files for processing and does not keep file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.
Is processing private / local-only?
Yes for the tool’s job. Your files stay on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs and downloads, never file contents or file names.
How do I compare two PDF files for differences?
Choose the original and the new PDF and click Compare PDFs. Edited, added, and removed lines are highlighted with their page numbers.
Does it compare images or formatting?
No. It compares the text content. Changes to bold, fonts, colors, or images are not detected.
Is it safe for confidential contracts?
Yes. Both files are processed in your browser. Structura does not upload or store them.
Why do page numbers not show as changes?
Lines that contain only numbers, like page numbers, are ignored by default so that re-pagination does not flood the results. Untick the option to include them.
Do I need an account?
No. All Structura tools are free to use without signup.
