How it works

Upload the older and the newer Excel file (.xlsx). CSV works too.
Pick the column that identifies each row, such as an ID, email, invoice number, or SKU.
Compare to see added, removed, and changed rows, with each changed cell shown before and after.
Download a color-coded Excel report, or a merged file with only the changes you accept.

Why spreadsheet compare features miss changes

Excel's own comparison tools and most side-by-side viewers compare cell A2 with cell A2. As soon as someone sorts the sheet, inserts a row, or a system exports records in a different order, everything looks changed. Comparing by a key column fixes that: each customer, product, or invoice is matched to itself, wherever it sits in the file.

Typical uses: a supplier's new price list against last month's, this month's CRM export against the last one, an inventory count against the system stock report, or a colleague's edited copy of a shared workbook.

Good to know

The first non-empty sheet of each workbook is compared, using the values Excel saved (formula results, not formulas)
Number formatting is ignored by default, so 19 and 19.00 count as equal
You can ignore columns that always change, such as "last updated"
Older .xls files need to be saved as .xlsx or CSV first
Files stay on your computer; nothing is uploaded

FAQ

Does my data get uploaded or stored?

No. Processing runs entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your files for processing and does not keep file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.

Is processing private / local-only?

Yes for the tool’s job. Your files stay on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs and downloads, never file contents or file names.

Can I compare two Excel files with different row orders?

Yes. Choose a key column such as an ID or email and rows are matched by that value, so sorting or inserted rows do not matter.

Can I compare an Excel file with a CSV?

Yes. Each side can be .xlsx, .csv, or .tsv.

Does it compare formulas?

It compares the values that Excel saved in the file. Two cells with different formulas but the same result are treated as equal.

Do I need an account?
