Shopify Product CSV Validator

Find the rows that would make a Shopify product import fail or create broken listings, and fix the common ones automatically.

Processed in your browser. Files never leave your device.

Your rule sets

Rule reference
  • required, unique, email, url, integer, number
  • boolean(TRUE/FALSE), date(YYYY-MM-DD) (also DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY)
  • oneof(active|draft|archived), min=0, max=100, minlength=2, maxlength=255
  • pattern=^[A-Z0-9-]+$ (put it last on the line)
  • @require-any: Email | Phone each row needs at least one; @strict warns about unexpected columns

How it works

  1. The Shopify products template is already selected. Paste or upload your product CSV or Excel file.
  2. Click Validate to see each problem with the row number from your spreadsheet.
  3. Leave auto-fix on to correct values like yes → TRUE and $14.00 → 14.00.
  4. Download the fixed CSV, then import it in Shopify admin under Products > Import.

Why Shopify product imports fail

Shopify's product importer is strict about a handful of columns, and its error messages often point at the wrong row or stop at the first problem. The most common causes are handles with spaces or capital letters, prices written with currency symbols, inventory quantities that are not whole numbers, Published or Variant Taxable values other than TRUE/FALSE, statuses other than active, draft, or archived, and image links without https://.

This validator checks every row for those problems at once, using the column names from Shopify's classic product CSV template. Variant rows that repeat a product's handle are expected and are not flagged as duplicates.

What it checks

Before you import

Shopify updates its template from time to time. If your export uses newer column names, edit the rules in the box above (one column per line) and save them for next time. Your file is processed in your browser and is never uploaded.

FAQ

Does my data get uploaded or stored?

No. Processing runs entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your files for processing and does not keep file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.

Is processing private / local-only?

Yes for the tool’s job. Your files stay on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs and downloads, never file contents or file names.

Why does Shopify say my CSV is invalid?

The usual causes are an invalid handle, a non-numeric price, a TRUE/FALSE column with another value, or a status Shopify does not accept. Validate the file here to see every row with a problem.

Does it work with Excel files?

Yes. Upload the .xlsx you edited; the first non-empty sheet is checked and you can download a corrected CSV for Shopify.

Will it change my product data?

Only safe formatting fixes, such as removing a currency symbol from a price or turning yes into TRUE. Anything that needs a decision, like an invalid handle, is reported for you to fix.

Do I need an account?

No. All Structura tools are free to use without signup.
