Convert Excel to CSV without losing data
Excel's own Save As CSV exports only the active sheet, uses your system's list separator, and can write characters in a legacy encoding that breaks names and currency symbols. This converter reads the workbook in your browser and writes UTF-8 CSV for every sheet you choose, with the delimiter your target system expects.
What it keeps intact
- Text such as ZIP codes, SKUs, and phone numbers keeps its leading zeros
- Long IDs stay exact instead of turning into
1.23457E+19 - Dates stored as Excel dates are written as real dates in the format you pick
- Commas, quotes, and line breaks inside cells are quoted correctly
- Empty trailing columns that Excel sometimes keeps are dropped
Limits
Works with .xlsx files (Excel 2007 and later). Old .xls files need to be
saved as .xlsx first. Formulas are exported as their last calculated values. Free use
covers workbooks up to 5 MB and 20,000 rows per sheet; Structura Pro raises that to 25 MB
and 100,000 rows.

FAQ
Does my data get uploaded or stored?
No. Processing runs entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your files for processing and does not keep file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.
Is processing private / local-only?
Yes for the tool’s job. Your files stay on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs and downloads, never file contents or file names.
How do I convert all sheets in an Excel file to CSV?
Upload the workbook, leave every sheet ticked, and click Download. You get a ZIP with one CSV per sheet, named after the workbook and the sheet.
Why does my CSV look wrong when I open it in Excel?
Excel guesses the encoding and delimiter. Tick Add UTF-8 BOM for accented letters or the rupee sign, and use semicolons if your Excel uses commas as the decimal separator.
Are formulas kept?
CSV can only hold values, so each formula cell is exported as the value Excel last calculated and saved in the file.
Can it convert .xls files?
Not directly. Open the .xls in Excel, LibreOffice, or Google Sheets, save it as .xlsx, and convert that.
Do I need an account?
