PDF to Word

Turn a text PDF into an editable Word document with its headings and paragraphs.

Your PDF is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Choose a PDF that has selectable text.
  2. Optionally limit the pages.
  3. Click Convert to Word, check the preview, and download the .docx.

What converts, and what does not

The converter reads the text of each page, rebuilds paragraphs (joining lines and words hyphenated across lines), detects headings from larger text, and keeps page breaks. The result opens in Word, Google Docs, Pages, and LibreOffice, ready to edit.

It recreates the text, not the exact layout: columns, images, and table formatting are not carried over. For tables, use PDF Table → Excel. Scanned PDFs need OCR, which this tool does not do.

FAQ

Does my data get uploaded or stored?

No. Processing runs entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your files for processing and does not keep file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.

Is processing private / local-only?

Yes for the tool’s job. Your files stay on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs and downloads, never file contents or file names.

How do I convert a PDF to an editable Word file?

Choose the PDF, click Convert to Word, and download the .docx file. Open it in Word or Google Docs to edit.

Will the formatting be exactly the same?

No. Text, headings, and paragraphs are kept; exact positions, columns, and images are not. It is built for getting editable text quickly.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

No. Scanned pages are images and need OCR first.

Do I need an account?

No. All Structura tools are free to use without signup.
