Remove GPS Location from Photos
Check whether your photos give away where you live or work, and strip the location before you post, sell, or send them.
Photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
How it works
- Select the photos you want to share.
- Each photo shows the GPS coordinates it contains, with a map link, plus camera and date details.
- The location and other metadata are removed without re-compressing the image.
- Download the cleaned photos and share those instead of the originals.
Your photos may be sharing your address
Phones store the GPS coordinates of nearly every photo, accurate to a few meters. Photos posted on marketplaces, sent as email attachments, shared through file links, or sent as "original quality" in messaging apps can keep that location. Anyone who downloads the file can see where it was taken, which is often a home address.
Structura shows exactly what each photo contains, removes the location along with the camera serial number, owner name, and dates, then re-checks the cleaned file. The pixels are copied as they are, so there is no loss of quality.
Turn it off at the source
- iPhone: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Camera > Never, or tap Options and turn off Location when sharing
- Android: open the Camera app settings and turn off location tags (the name varies by phone)
Photos you have already taken still contain their location, so clean them before sharing.

FAQ
Does my data get uploaded or stored?
No. Processing runs entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your files for processing and does not keep file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.
Is processing private / local-only?
Yes for the tool’s job. Your files stay on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs and downloads, never file contents or file names.
How do I know if my photo has a location?
Select it here. If it contains GPS data, Structura shows the coordinates and a map link before removing them.
Does removing the location reduce quality?
No. Only the metadata is removed; the image data is copied byte for byte.
Do social networks remove location automatically?
Many large platforms strip it from uploaded images, but email, file-sharing links, marketplaces, and original-quality sharing in messaging apps often keep it. Cleaning the file yourself is the safe option.
Do I need an account?
No. All Structura tools are free to use without signup.
