Remove Photo Metadata & Location
See what your photos reveal (location, camera, time taken), remove it without losing quality, and check that it is gone.
Photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
How it works
- Select one or more photos.
- Structura shows what each one contains: GPS coordinates, camera make and serial, date taken, author, and software.
- Metadata is removed byte by byte, without re-compressing the image.
- Each cleaned file is checked again, then you download it, or a ZIP for many files.
Share photos without sharing where you live
Phones save the exact GPS location in most photos, along with the date and time, camera model, and sometimes the owner's name or the camera's serial number. Some platforms remove this when you upload; email attachments, file-sharing links, marketplaces, and messaging apps that send "original quality" files often do not.
Structura removes metadata by rewriting the file container and copying the image data exactly, so there is no quality loss and the file is usually slightly smaller. Then it inspects the cleaned file again and shows you the result.
What is removed
- EXIF: GPS location, camera make, model and serial number, lens, dates, software, owner and artist
- XMP and IPTC blocks, including editing history and captions
- JPEG comments and PNG text chunks
What is kept
- The image pixels, untouched
- The color profile, so colors look the same
- The rotation flag (optional), so portrait photos do not turn sideways
Limits
Up to 200 photos at a time, 50 MB each. HEIC/HEIF photos from iPhones are not supported; export them as JPEG first, or set the camera to "Most Compatible". Removing metadata does not hide what is visible in the picture itself, such as street signs or faces.

FAQ
Does my data get uploaded or stored?
No. Processing runs entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your files for processing and does not keep file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.
Is processing private / local-only?
Yes for the tool’s job. Your files stay on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs and downloads, never file contents or file names.
How do I remove the location from a photo?
Select the photo here. Structura shows the GPS coordinates it found, removes them along with other EXIF data, and lets you download the cleaned copy.
Does removing EXIF reduce image quality?
No. The image data is copied byte for byte; only metadata blocks are removed. The file usually gets slightly smaller.
Why keep the orientation flag?
Many photos are stored sideways and rely on an orientation flag to display upright. Keeping only that flag preserves the correct rotation without revealing anything personal. Untick the option to remove it too.
Are iPhone HEIC photos supported?
Not yet. Export them as JPEG (for example via Share > Save as JPEG, or by setting Camera Formats to Most Compatible) and then clean them here.
Do I need an account?
No. All Structura tools are free to use without signup.
