VLOOKUP Between Two Excel Files
Pull columns from one workbook into another by a shared ID, SKU, or email, with no formulas to copy down and no mystery #N/A.
Processed in your browser. Files never leave your device.
How it works
- Upload the workbook you want to add columns to as the main file.
- Upload the workbook that has the extra columns as the lookup file.
- Pick the matching column in each and tick the columns to bring over.
- Click Merge and download the combined workbook.
The usual way: VLOOKUP across workbooks
To look up values from another workbook in Excel, you open both files and write something like
=VLOOKUP(A2,'[prices.xlsx]Sheet1'!$A:$D,3,FALSE), copy it down, repeat it for every
column you need, then paste the results as values before you close the second file. When a value
comes back as #N/A, you have to work out whether the key is missing, has a trailing
space, or is a number stored as text.
This tool does the same lookup for all the columns you choose at once. It ignores stray spaces and
number formatting in keys, keeps codes with leading zeros distinct, and lists the rows that did not
match so you can follow up instead of hunting for #N/A.
If you prefer a formula
In Excel 365 or Google Sheets, =XLOOKUP(A2, Lookup!A:A, Lookup!C:C, "not found") is
more robust than VLOOKUP. The Excel Formula Builder
writes it for you.

FAQ
Does my data get uploaded or stored?
No. Processing runs entirely in your browser. Structura does not upload your files for processing and does not keep file contents on a server. Closing the tab clears the in-memory copy.
Is processing private / local-only?
Yes for the tool’s job. Your files stay on the device. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics may record page views and anonymous events such as tool runs and downloads, never file contents or file names.
Can I do a VLOOKUP between two different Excel files?
Yes. Upload one as the main file and the other as the lookup file. The first non-empty sheet of each workbook is used; save the sheet you need as its own file if it is not the first.
Why does my VLOOKUP return #N/A when the value is there?
Usually a space at the end of the key, or a number stored as text in one file and as a number in the other. This tool ignores both when matching.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Both files are processed in your browser and never leave your device.
Do I need an account?
No. All Structura tools are free to use without signup.
